Underwriting Specialist
Vanessa Charnley is a seasoned financial services professional with over three decades of experience in the employee benefits and retirement fund industry. She holds a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) qualification from the University of the Free State and has built a distinguished career across leading financial services organisations.
Throughout her career, Vanessa progressed through a wide range of clerical, supervisory, consulting and management roles, gaining comprehensive insight into fund administration, governance and client servicing. Her career journey includes tenures at Liberty Group, Sage Life and the Fedsure Group, with subsequent staff transitions to Investec Employee Benefits and Capital Alliance, before returning to Liberty Group where she remained until her retirement in March 2022.
In June 2025, Vanessa joined Jigsaw Financial Services, bringing with her a wealth of industry knowledge and experience. She currently serves as an independent trustee on the board of a Provident Fund, where she contributes her expertise in governance, compliance and member focused decision making.
